Цели и задачи урока:- Учебно-методические задачи урока:
- Активизация языкового материала по теме «Роль английского языка в мире» в реальной ситуации общения.
- Развивать умение находить ответы на вопросы в воспринимаемом на слух тексте.
- Тренировка в употреблении речевых клише.
- Практикование учащихся во всех видах языковой деятельности.
- Общеобразовательные цели:
- Приобщение учащихся к научно-исследовательской деятельности, используя дополнительные источники.
- Ориентация на развитие навыков и умений иноязычной языковой деятельности (аудирования, говорение, монологическая и диалогическая речь).
- Овладение лексикой по теме «Изучение английского языка».
- Обучение общению, познавательной деятельности с использованием английского языка.
- Развитие лингвистического мышления.
- Воспитательные цели урока:

T: As you
can see, there are many guests at our lesson today. Let’s greet them.
From the
very beginning I’d like you to make two teams.
Warming up:
T: Who is
on duty today? Who is absent? (Speaking about the today’s weather or any other
subject you like).

So the
topic of our lesson is “Why we study English”. At our lesson we shall try to
answer this question. (Presenting of the information about
English-speaking countries.)
Presenting
the information ‘English is easy’.
Now let’s
learn the rhyme about learning the English language:
I love learning English,I can read,
I can write,
I can speak English, too.
I love learning rhymes!
And what about you?
Most children like to learn English. I also like it very much, because it is my life. And what do you think about learning English, boys and girls? Why do we study English?
Using the method Brain storm. Children try to answer the question and fill the mind map.

Some variants of answers:
- English helps us to learn a lot of things about different people from different countries; to watch English and American films in the original; to read books and youth magazines; to read newspapers; to listen to the radio and TV musical programmes in English; to visit foreign countries; to have an English-speaking penfriend; to read labels and instructions; to take part in exchange programmes; to learn about traditions and customs; to communicate with the people from other countries; to make friends with children of other countries; to chat the Internet and so on ).

Pupil 3: I think the best way to study languages is speaking with native speaker.
Pupil 4: I think the best way to study languages is traveling abroad.
T: I think you are right. Traveling is the best way to study foreign languages. We have learned some poems about traveling. Who remembers them and wants to recite the poems?

T.: Well done. And now let’s read the text about English in your textbooks. Open them on page 54 and do ex. 1.
As you can see, learning English is very important for almost every person. But what must a good language learner be?
effectively, fluently, fast, native speakers, quickly, grammar.
A good language learner :

- Слово “double-decker” – перекладається як одноповерховий автобус. (ні)
- Назвіть три ступеня порівняння прикметника good. (good – better – the best)
- Назвіть три ступеня порівняння прикметника bad. (bad – worse – the worst)
- Назвіть другу форму неправильного дієслова go. (went)
- Назвіть другу форму неправильного дієслова say. (said)

the lines into the right order.
