Lesson 4
Jobs Suitable for Us
Aims:
Educative:
To develop students’ speaking skills with the help of monological and
dialogical speech.

To develop students’ attention, ability to show their thoughts, personal attitude to the problem; to formulate the ways of solving the problem.

To bring up students’ tolerant attitude to each other, ability to
cooperate and communicate.
Equipment: a ball, cards with the text “Nice Work if You Can Get
It”, cards with the text “Tips for First-time Jobseekers”
The type of the
lesson: the
lesson of using skills and abilities
Procedure:
I. Greeting. Warm-up activities. (5min.)1) Saying compliments.
T: Hello, everybody.
The subject of our lesson today is “Job Suitable for Us”. We
are going to have a lesson-discussion, a business game where various jobs will
be discussed. You know that people must be tolerant to each other, so let’s
start with saying compliments .
(Pupils throw a little ball to each other and
say compliments)
e.g. P1: Lera, you look wonderful today.
P2: Thanks, you are very kind. Vlada, your smile is so charming.
P3: Thanks a lot. I’m pleased to hear that. etc.
2) “Hot chair” game.
T: What should we
take into consideration while choosing a profession? Is character important? I
think, yes. We’ll play a psychological game which is called “a hot chair”. The
game is simple. Let’s choose a psyholigyst who will define your treats of
character. And now one of you will sit down on the chair and the others will speak honestly about his (her)
traits of character. Then our psychologist (name) will give her comments. The
adjactives to help you are in the table:
Sociable
Reliable
Hardworking
Easy-going
Clever
|
Lazy
Communicative
Tolerant
Honest
Absent-minded
|
Talkative
Irresponsible
Sociable
Generous
Amiable
|
Pupils speak in turn.
E.g. I think you are (communicative and sociable)
In my opinion you are (generous and amiable)
I am sorry to say, but you are (a bit lazy, you should be more hard- working)
You are …, but sometimes you are …etc.
(After pupils comment their classmates’ characters, one of the pupils who is chosen to be a psychologist gives the results which treats of character were mentiond very often.
Psychologist: Your classmates think you are a …, …, … and … person.
II. Speech skills.
1) Language work. (HO 1)(5 min.)
Say it in one word:
- to move someone to a more important job, position in a company;
- money, usually added to pay as a reward for good work;
- a period during each day or night when workers in a factory or hospital etc., are at work;
- the act of being in charge of a group of workers and being responsible for making sure that they do their work;
- something that tests strength, skill or ability;
- extra things such as luncheon vouchers or free medical insurance over and above basic pay;
- someone who is being trained for a job;
- someone who has recently joined a group of people or organization.
3) Discussing problem questions.
T: Well, friends, I see that
choosing a profession is very important to you. You know that there are highly-paid and low-paid,
challenging and boring jobs. Now I’d like you to answer the question: Which is
more important – a high salary or satisfaction? My job is, for example, not
highly-paid, but it is extremely interesting. What’s your opinion of the
problem? What profession will you never choose?
Discussion.(8min.)(During the discussion pupils tell their opinion on the problem, in case it’s needed they may interrupt their classmates politly and continue their conversation).
e.g.
- Sorry for interrupting…
- Let me say my way…
- I am of a different opinion…
- I don’t think so…
- I fully agree with you…
- To a certain extent you are right, but …etc. (HO 3)
4) Group work – discussing problem questions. (Brainstorming)(5 min.)
T: You know that on the way to
your future career you'll come across some obstacles and hardships which have
to be overcomed. What are the problems that you’ll have to cope with and how
are you going to do it?
(Pupils are divided into two groups. Group 1 names
the hardships which waits for them. Group 2 tries to name the way of solving
the problems.)5) Application for a job.(5 min)
T: How clever and jolly you are. So now imagine that you are not students any longer. You are young specialists. What do you do next?
P1: We apply for a job.
T: What do we call a person who applies for a job?
P2: An applicant.
T: What does an applicant do?
P3: Writes a letter of application and CV.
T: What shall we write in the letter of application?
(Pupils tell what they have to show in their letter of application from their points of view.)
6) Role-play.(5 min)
And now we will have a job interview. P1 – employer, P2 – applicant.
(Each pair must roleplay a
situation: an applicant is too shy, an employee
often interrupts an applicant. Which is the best way out of it?)
III. Summary.(2 min)T: Thanks a lot for your work at the lesson. I enjoyed it. And what about you? Did you like the lesson? What new information have you got? What did you like most (less)of all?
IV. Hometask. (HO 5 and 6)

Woman. What experience do you
have?
Oliver. I helped with the youth

Oliver.
I am
sorry, what do you mean exactly?

you would like to ask me?
Oliver. Er, yes, just one thing.
Could you tell me what kind of accommodation there is for people working at the

Yes,

Lesson 6
Job Interview
Aims:
Educational:
To improve practical skills of speaking (using new vocabulary material);
To improve listening skills (listening for specific information).
Developing:
To develop students’ learning interests,
To develop students’ communicative culture and
reaction.
Upbringing:
To bring up responsible attitude to the process of choosing the future
profession,
To bring up general culture of students
Equipment: cards with
proverbs, cards with the text “Dancer takes the right steps”
The type of the
lesson: The lesson of using skills
Procedure:
I. Greeting. (5 min) II. Warm-up activities.
T: Today we are going
to speak about your plans for future and your future professions. When you
leave school you understand that the time to choose your future professional
has come. It’s not an easy task to make the right choice of a job. What do you
think? Is it easy to choose a profession?
Suggested students’ answers:
St.1: To
my mind it’s difficult to choose a profession according to abilities and
character. As far as I know many school leavers are inclined to choose a
popular profession and having done so, they are sure this is just what they
want. But soon afterwards they realize they have made a mistake which is
sometimes difficult to correct. That is why choosing a profession is not a
simple matter, but a very important one.
T: You are absolutely right.
When we speak about
profession we use such words as ‘trade’, occupation’. Who can explain the
differences between them?
Suggested students’ answers:
St.2: I can. Occupation is the most general term, it is
used to name any job, employment.Trade is used for physical labour, the use of machinery and tools.
Profession is an occupation which requires special training or education.
T: Thank you. Who can help you to make the right choice of a job?
Suggested students’ answers:
St.3: This
can be done by going to the library and by reading widely. Jobs change and new
ones are constantly appearing. By reading and talking to people who have
different kinds of jobs we’ll get great opportunities. There will be for us.
T: Sure. And what
is the best way to prepare for any job?
Suggested students’ answers:
St.4: To my mind the best way to prepare for any job is to
get a good education – to do well at school and to learn all you can outside the
school.T: Have you made up your mind what to be in the future ?
Suggested students’ answers:
St.5: It is difficult for me to give a definite answer.
As the years passed
I had changed my mind a lot of times about which science or field of industry
to specialize in. It’s not easy to choose one of hundreds jobs to which I might
be suited better.
III. Listening for specific information. (10
min)T: You are right, P.
You have said that
there is a great variety of jobs. And some of them are very popular in our
country. Now listen and say which profession is described in each of the
following examples.
a). This profession
requires special education; the person should be kindhearted, careful,
courageous, sensitive to the need of others; should be sympathetic to the pain
of other people; should be very handy, devoted to this duty, selfless.
St.-s: To my mind this is a profession of…I think…
It seems to me… (HO 1)
b). This profession
requires special education; the person should be kind, generous, strict and
just; should love children; should possess deep and broad knowledge of a
subject; should be responsible, honest, tactful, reserved, patient and
tolerant.
c). This trade
requires special qualities; the person should be careful; should have quick
reactions; should have vision and hearing; should know and observe the traffic
rules; should be a good mechanic.
d). This profession
requires special education and physical qualities; the person should be very
well educated in physics, mathematics, astronomy; should be in a perfect state
of health; should have good endurance and the ability to stand great strain and
the state of weightlessness; should be courageous and daring.
e). This profession
needs special qualities; ability to stand heights or depths, extremes of heat
or cold, courage, curiosity, the sense of duty, the ability to risk, good
health, devotion to one’s idea, confidence in success.
f). This profession
needs the following qualities; enterprise, the ability to foresee, to analyze
and to risk; the ability to keep promises; the person should be disciplined,
well behaved, communicative; should know foreign languages; should be a good
psychologist.
IV. Role-play (Press-conference ). (10 min)T: The first profession you came across from your childhood is the profession of a teacher. We don’t realize the importance of it. Nevertheless when you come to the conclusion that you like communicating with children teaching is your choice. The best way to know this profession better is to have a talk with a teacher. So we are going to do this just now. St.1 will be a journalist and St.2 will be a teacher.
Journalist: Good
morning and welcome to our program “Worldly Wise”. Today our attention turns on
teaching. Many young people consider teaching as a career. It’s not surprising:
after your parents the teacher may be the most important person in your life.
With all the teachers you meet you think there isn`t anything you don’t know
about the work. The teachers must be devoted to their work and privately think,
though they may not like to admit it openly, that they serve humanity doing the
most vital job of all. Mr. (name) is a teacher of English in one of secondary schools.
Fortunately he found time to come and
take part in our program.
Get ready to ask questions, pupils.T: Pleased to meet you, friends.
St.1: Why have you chosen teaching as a career?
T: Well, as for me, I
made my choice long ago. My choice of this occupation didn’t come as a sudden
flash. If you like people, you will like teaching, you must be genuinely
interested in what you are doing. The most important things in the world are
awareness and learning – wish to learn more and more every day of your life.
Because every time you learn something new you become something new. A teacher
catalyzes in his pupils the burning desire to know and love the truth and
beauty.
St.2: Who has influenced on your choice of profession?T: My parents, my English teacher and, of course, my love of English. During all school years English was my favorite subject.
St.3:
Teaching is a very difficult job, it is not well paid. Besides, most jobs can
be done within the usual office hours from 9 to 5, but teacher’s work is never
done. As far as I know evenings are mostly spent making exercise books and preparing
for the next lesson. It is quite a stressful job and a bit boring to my mind.
T: Nothing of the
kind speaking about boring. It’s the most noble and rewarding job. Can you
imagine your life without teachers, ah? Yes , that’s impossible. There are, of
course, two categories of teachers: teachers who have a job and teachers who have a calling. There are teachers who can’t wait for
the day to begin.
St.4: John Steinbeck once said that a great teacher is an
artist and you know how few great artists there are in the world. Teaching
might even be the greatest of the arts.
T: You are absolutely
right. That’s why humanity has the deepest respect to teachers. Teachers do not
only teach their subjects, they develop their pupils’ intellect, form their
views and characters, their attitudes to life and to other people. It’s a great
responsibility to bring up children. I think that’s the reason why teachers are
deeply respected.
St.5: What qualities do you think are necessary for a good
teacher?
T: Oh, many of them. First
of all a good teacher should know perfectly the subject he teaches, must be
well-educated and well informed, because an ignorant teacher teaches ignorance,
a bored teacher teaches boredom. Teachers should be understanding and patient, should
be kind. A teacher must love children and respect them.
St.6: I am
fond of English. But I think that teaching is not for me. Which of professions
require the knowledge of foreign language?
T: There are lots of
professions for which a good knowledge of a foreign language is absolutely
necessary, but I must say that many of them deal with people, for example: an
interpreter, a translator, a diplomat, a journalist as well.
Journalist: Time of our program comes to the end. Thank you for
coming.
T: Summing it up I’d
like to say” Many roads are open before you. The most important thing is to
work well. The English proverb goes “ He works best who knows his trade”. But
it is a mistake to think that all your work is in future. Try to take an active
part in life. Good luck to you. Thank you.
V. Work with proverbs (10 min):
a) Guessing words
by the context.
T: Our “English
teacher” has already mentioned one of English proverbs. There are many other
proverbs to do with work.
St. goes to the
blackboard, matches a line from column A with a line from column B to form an
English proverb. The rest of pupils follow him, agree or disagree.
(St. reads and
then asks: Is it right(or wrong)?)(St.-s read and translate)
(on the board)
1. A bad workman | a. while the sun shines |
2. All lay loads | b. louder than words |
3. Make hay | c. master of none |
4. Many hands | d. blames his tools |
5. Too many cooks | e. what you can do today |
6. Actions speak | f. make light work |
7.Never put off till tomorrow | g. catches the warm |
8. Jack of all trades | h. on a willing horse |
9. The early bird | i. spoil the broth |
b) Speaking
T: Have a look at proverbs again and try to explain how you understand this or that proverb. Take it in turn.
1. A bad workman blames his tools.
Плохой работник всегда винит свой инструмент
A careless or unskilled person blames his tools to excuse himself for bad work, while it is his own carelessness or lack of skill which is really to blame.
2. All lay loads on a willing horse
Все накладывают груз на старательную лошадь.
(Кто везет, того и погоняют)
A man willing to work is always given more work to do than a lazy one, because the work which is given to a willing man will be done well and quickly.
3. Make hay while the sun shines.
Заготавливай сено, пока солнце светит
(Коси коса, пока роса)
You must take advantage of the opportunities while conditions are favourable.

Когда рук много, работа делается легко
(Дружно не грузно, а врозь хоть брось)
A job, duty, everything is to do if many people share the work.
5. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
Слишком много поваров портят бульон
(У семи нянек дитя без глазу)
If too many people try to do the same thing at the same time, the task will be done badly, spoilt or damaged.
6. Action speaks louder than words.

Job Interview
Aims:
Educational:
To improve practical skills of speaking (using new vocabulary material);
4. Many hands make light wok.
Когда рук много, работа делается легко
(Дружно не грузно, а врозь хоть брось)
A job, duty, everything is to do if many people share the work.
5. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
Слишком много поваров портят бульон
(У семи нянек дитя без глазу)
If too many people try to do the same thing at the same time, the task will be done badly, spoilt or damaged.
6. Action speaks louder than words.
Поступки говорят громче, чем слова
(Не по словам судят, а по делам)
People can say many things, because talking is easy, but it is more important what a person does than what he says he will do.
7. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
Не откладывай на завтра то, что можно сделать сегодня.
You must carry out a lot a task or duty as soon as you can. If you leave it till tomorrow, you may forget about it or not find time to do it and it may never be done.
8. Jack of all trades is master of none.
Джек на все руки мастер, а ни одним мастерством не владеет.
(За все браться - ничего не сделать)
A person who works at many trades never becomes really expert at any one of them. It is better to be really skilful at one trade than to have small knowledge of many.

didn't mind because he was going to drop out anyway. He had decided to
take a year out in order to get some experience in the real world.
B__ Alan
resigned before he was sacked. He started doing odd jobs for family friends
again. And that autumn he was back at university studying Law. Maybe you're
wondering what Alan does now. Well, believe it or not, he's a health and safety
inspector in a large armaments factory.
C Alan was a bit depressed about
being out of work, but then, at last, he got a full-time job! It was in an egg
factory. He was in charge of the machine that put the packs of eggs into large
boxes ready to go to supermarkets around the country. The wages were low and he
had to work long hours, but from the beginning, Alan's boss was impressed by
his attitude. He clocked in on time, he was always happy to work overtime and
he never took any time off. Before long, he had been promoted to a better job.
Now he was responsible for driving a fork-lift truck and loading the boxes of
eggs onto the supermarket lorries. He quickly became the fastest fork-lift
driver in the factory. He was happy and proud to be earning his living.
D However, they say that pride comes before a
fall. And so it was with Alan. One day, he decided to make his job more
interesting by seeing how fast he could do it. He set his stopwatch and drove
as fast as he could towards the boxes full of eggs. His foot was hard down on
the accelerator, and the fork-lift was going at top speed, but Alan was sure he
was in control. However, he was wrong. He waited one second too long. He hit
the brakes but it was too late. The fork-lift crashed into a huge pile of
boxes. There was a terrible crunching noise and then silence. When Alan's workmates
went to see what had happened, they found Alan standing in the middle of the
world's biggest omelette. Fortunately, he wasn't hurt, but he had broken more
than twelve thousand eggs.
E__
Then he got a part-time job in a tea room. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.
On his first day, he put salt in the sugar pot. On his second day he put
tabasco sauce in some sandwiches and almost killed an old lady. And on the third day he dropped a tray and
broke over two dozen cups and saucers. The manager of the tea room asked him to
leave.
F__
When Alan Jeffries left school, he wasn't sure what It) do. His parenLs wanted
him to go to university to get n degree in Law. 'Iliey said that he would have
great career opportunities when he graduated. So he rook their advice and enrolled
at Reading University.
G When
he saw all the jobs on offer at the job centre, he was impressed. But it wasn't
as easy as he had thought it was going to be to get a job, and he began to
wonder if he had made a mistake. He applied for lots of jobs, both permanent
and temporary car mechanic, shop
assistant, cook, hairdresser, security guard ... Rut he was too young and
inexperienced for some and overqualified for others. So he made some money
doing odd jobs for family friends - painting a garage, babysitting, washing
cars and so on.

I. Greeting. Introduction.
II. Warm-up activities. (7 min)
At the beginning of the lesson
children are divided in four groups having chosen a figure of red, green,
yellow or dark blue colours and then they sit down at the certain table.
The
teacher gives the characteristic of groups of pupils depending on the chosen
colour.
Those
who have chosen:
–
dark blue colour are sensitive and impressionable people, quiet and
counterbalanced, they have refinement and good esthetic development;
–
green colour feel requirement in being praised, want to be the best, have high
level of claims, are anxious by their own status in the collective;
–
yellow colour are positive, with rich
imagination, like to dream but aren't ready to act quickly, live more in the
future than in the present;
- red
are active, vigorous, energetic, noisy.
Teacher: As you know we are all different in our characters,
individual abilities, possibilities, interests, each of us has a separate world
of knowledge, emotions, feelings, experiences, aspirations, motives.
But
now try to answer my question: what unites us, in what way we are similar.
Children
are discussing the question in groups and then name the general things that
unite them, the teacher fixes them on the board.
E.G.
Everybody needs food.
Everybody
likes being praised.
Everybody
likes when others understand them.
Everybody
needs good friends.
Everybody
wants to be healthy.
Teacher: Today we will have a game lesson. You will be able to
name a theme of this lesson when you solve the anagram.
Put
the letters on their places and you will be able to name a lesson theme.
There
is an anagram on the slide: T E O L O P
O F E S I O S H W R D F R F E S I N
(The
World of Professions)
So,
the topic is “The Word of Professions”.
III. Improving speech skills.(35
min)
Teacher: We will get acquainted with prestigious, rare and new
professions, learn about an object of labor of these trades, we will talk about
ways of choosing a trade.
But
first – answer the question: “What does success in life mean for you?”
Variants
of answers:
It is
respect of people.
It is
an interesting job.
It is
presence of reliable friends.
It is
a life which you have lived in the right way.
It is
wealth.
It is
a possibility to be a master of your own life.
It is
a realization of your creative abilities.
It is
a victory over your enemies.
It is
a good position.
It is
a power.
Remember!
Before doing something important in your life, you have to know exactly what
you want to get!
Teacher: There are some special terms which are connected with
the world of professions. They are: a trade, a profession, a post. It is rather
important for you to know the difference between these terms.
So,
let’s remember:
A
trade is a sort of labour activity which is usually a source of existence and
demands certain qualification.
A
post deals with official duties, an office place. It is a circle of actions
assigned to the certain person.
A
profession is a functionally isolated area of labour activity within the limits
of one trade.
Let's
continue our lesson with a game. Which team names more trades on the set
letters.
Letters are given on the
slide.(A, B, C, D, F, M, P, S, T, W)
Pupils have to write
professions which begin with these letters.
Then the results of the game
are summed up.
Teacher: We have listed trades which we know, which we’ve
heard about. In total there are about 40 thousand trades and specializations in
the world.
And
now let’s think where it is possible to receive the information about trades.
Children
list: reference books, magazines, mass-media, the Internet.
Teacher: We live in informational hi-tech world where there
are lots of new trades. Do you know any new trades which appeared in last ten
or twenty years?
Children list the professions.
After
that the teacher shows a slide:
The
brand-manager, the bookmaker, the DJ, the image maker, the realtor, the croupier,
the logistic, the expert in marketing, the merchandiser, the producer.
Children give the
characteristic of an object of labor of each trade together with the teacher.
Teacher: And together with new trades there are also rare
trades.
Why
do we call them rare?
Teacher shows a slide with the
list of rare trades.
The
taster, the cynologist, the forester/huntsman, the artist-mosaicist, the expert
in smells, the priest, the glass blower, the chimney sweeper, the private
detective.
Teacher: And all of you’ve heard that there are prestigious
trades.
How
do you think which trades can be concerned as the prestigious ones?
Children
list, the teacher fixes them on the board.
The
manager, the doctor, the banker / the employee of a bank, the economist/financier,
the businessman, the minister/deputy/employee, the worker of computer
firm/programmer, the bookkeeper, the worker of show business.
Why
do we call these trades prestigious?
Answers of children: these
trades are often spoken about in mass-media, they are demanded trades, they are
highly paid trades, fashionable trades.
Teacher: And now let’s have a talk about choosing your future
profession.
How
to make a decision in a huge variety of professions, which we have more than 40
thousand in the world? How to avoid mistakes and disappointments while choosing
your future occupation? There are no general answers, but still pay attention
to these recommendations:
1. Think about the profession that might be yours.
2. Examine yourselves, your interests, your physical and
mental abilities, aptitudes.
3. Find out if your health allows you to do the chosen
job.
4. Find out whether your chosen profession is available
on the profession market .
P1: So we have a strict formula of choosing a profession:
I WANT, I CAN, I MUST.
I WANT – I’ll think about a profession which
might be mine.
I CAN
– I’ll examine myself, my interests and physical and mental abilities.
I
MUST – I’ll find out if my profession is available on the profession market.
Teacher: As I know P2 (name) wants to become a psychologist.
At the previous lesson I asked her to make a research of spheres of human
activity. Let’s listen to her report.
P2: There are
certain spheres of human professional activity. They have definite
directions:
MAN –
MAN
Professions
of this type require from the worker the ability to make and keep contact with
people, have influence on other people, have self-possession, calmness and
well-wishing, have communicative skills. (the teacher, the tutor, the
translator, the librarian, the doctor, the nurse, the lawyer, the waitress, the
salesman, the manager, the guide)
MAN –
TECHNICS
This
type of professions requires from the worker advanced visual-figurative
thinking, spatial concepts, technical knowledge and wit, precise movements,
well-developed attention, dynamic eye estimation.
(the
electromechanic, the gas welder, the miller, the turner, the fitter, the metallurgist, the driver, the weaver, the builder)
MAN –
SIGN SYSTEM
Professions
of this type require human capacity for abstract thought, long and steady
focus, perseverance, ability to work with numbers, formulas, chemical symbols,
diagrams, charts, etc.
(the
operator, the radio operator, the telegrapher, the accountant, the economist,
the designer, the surveyor, the historian,
the metrologist, the mathematician, the programmer, the philosopher)
MAN –
ARTISTIC IMAGE
In
professions of this type it is required to have developed artistic taste, high
aesthetic sensitivity, rich and vivid imagination, vivid memory, creative
thinking and aesthetic sense.
(the
painter, the artist, the restorer, the architect, the designer, the sculptor,
the jeweler, the photographer, the writer, the actor, the journalist, the
hairdresser, the cook, the choreographer, the filmmaker)
MAN –
NATURE
Professions
of this type require from the worker to have good observation, ability to
orient themselves in an unpredictable situations, operating results, to change
the target depending on conditions, endurance, patience in conditions of lack
of comfort.
(the
hydrometeorologist, the geologist, the agronomist, the plant breeder, the
gardener, the livestock, the vet, the biologist, the physiologist, the forester)
Teacher: It is very important to make the right choice.
P2: And I’d like to tell you in what way we are wrong
while choosing a profession.
In
what way we are wrong.
- Ignorance of the world of professions:
Some of us have outdated ideas about the
nature and conditions of employment of different occupations. We have
prejudices about the prestige of occupations.
- Selfignorance:
Sometimes
we do not evaluate our abilities, our health objectively. Students often do not
know how to relate their own abilities and the requirements of the profession.
- Ignorance of the rules of choosing a
profession:
We should not treat the profession as
something unchangeable.
We mustn’t choose the profession under the
influence of friends, parents, teachers, choose the profession "together
with others"
We
mustn’t equate the school subjects and the profession.
Teacher: Do you know that
1. Life will be better if you do what you want
to do and what you do best.
2. You’ll
waste your time if you do the job just to do something.
3.The more you understand what you want in
life, the easier it’ll be to achieve the desired result.
4. Planning of your future and realization of
your desires will help you to identify your purpose in life.
5. Searching of job will be successful if you
know what you want to do.
6. That person who has knowledge and skills
has more opportunities. The absolute lack of qualification narrows the range of
possible choice.
Teacher: And remember:
PROFESSION should be pleasant;
PROFESSION should correspond to possibilities and
abilities of a person;
PROFESSION should be demanded on a labor market.
IV. Summarizing.(3 min)
Teacher: That’s all for the present. Did you like the lesson?
Was it useful for you?
V. Hometask.
Your
hometask for the next lesson is to prepare a dialogue on the situation:
S.1
is speaking with a person who works in the field which you may choose as your
future career, for example, an interpreter, an accountant, an editor, etc. You
can ask your partner:
-
whether his/her job requiers a lot of skills (knowledge, education, practice);
-
where he/she got the necessary skills (knowledge, education, practice);
- what
he/she advises you to do to become better acquainted with this trade or
profession.
St.2’s
answers the St.1’s questions and mentions the advantages and disadvantages of
your job.
